Thank you for your reply. I'm very interested in the possibilities. Perhaps my situation will not lend itself to using this technology, but I'm having a blast learning about it. If I ever achieve my dream of moving out of the city I'll definitely look utilizing what I'm learning. I'm looking forward to your next round of videos.

Blake,

I get held up on the Off Gridder release by the UFL project, but now I am back on it. Unfortunately with gasification it isnt as simple as selling a kit, I have to do a whole bunch of education to narrow down what it can and cant do and then filter through the people that will use it properly, put good wood into it, etc. I have said it before and I will say it again "Its a personal refinery, not an appliance". I am working on videos that illustrate the basics and answer common questions. It doesn't happen overnight.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see how to buy a "off gridder". It looks like on the home page that it is available, but don't see it in the store. I'm interested in ways to produce energy... but one of my challenges is that I live in a suburban neighborhood. I don't have the luxury of a nice barn or outbuilding to work on stuff like this. If someone in my situation could buy this unit, what would be the most useful purposes for it? I can see heating water and stuff, but not for a hot water replacement in the house... Maybe for running a generator at times.... just looking for ideas. Thanks.

I think I will change the photo of me. One that shows me getting my hands dirty
Anyhow, I love this site and all the ideas put into action.
I have a idea of running tubes in the reactor zone, external, internal or both, so that the
high heat can be used to produce steam. the steam runs the engine that runs the chipper/drier and pellet maker and if I'm lucky run the auto feeder.
