Dennis, My small propane torch doesn't have those holes either. Must be the thin air up here! However the info about drilling the holes is OK. Someone on The Fab Shop mentioned it and had a vid. I think it was an older gentleman with a beard. Seems to have a good sense of humor, too.
I noticed that Andy referenced Fluidyne in a response and that design also looks like something I have in mind, but looking at one more sure can't hurt.

Pete That has been my trouble area to took long time to find plans that made sence so I just went some what with the old russian design for it with a few of my own changes will take some of it soon for u to see thanks for viewing and comments much needed input have great day

Hi Dennis,
Nice vids. Try a coupling w/4"long threaded scrap pipe w/ a series of air holes a couple inches or so from end. This will mix air with gas before it exits pipe Screw coupling unit on your present threaded pipe I think the orange flame is definitely CO.Someone else wrote about introducing air into the test pipe. Take a look at air holes on a small propane torch nozzle.
I'm still on paper and would like to see pics of inside showing burner, nozzles etc and will be appreciated. The burner design seems to be a bit of a stumbling block for me, although I think it has to be straightforward. Thanks for posting.
