Victory Gasworks- Gasifiers and Wood Gasification

Daniel

Cannot believe I never heard of gasification before ……

Through this together over last few days not sure if it is going to work….took ideas from all over the internet….not sure how I am going to make the grate…if any body has any ideas or comments, they would be greatly appreciated .......Plan to have this thing fired up by the weekend.

You can think about things, plan them out …..but until you put the welder to the steel you are not really doing anything!!!…it is better to have done something and failed then to have got around to doing anything…hell you could have done it couple of times before Most have done anything.

John and Ben, sorry it took me so long to respond…I really appreciate the input..Some times things do not go as planed ….have not got this thing fired up yet….have made some progress…

My fan, downloaded the cad drawings from ALL POWER LABS…Very
Impressed with the performance was really surprised, did not expect it to work so well…I have not connected a water gage to it yet; so, not sure of the cfm or vacuum…will keep you posted on the performance when I do.

The cyclone, according to the math it should remove particles down to 5 microns or smaller, based on cfm of the 22hp engine (at rpm)(taken in account a fuel mixture) I plan to use …we will see!!!!!…. There a lot of unknown variables …for one will condensation in the cyclone effect the performance? …The math never works out in reel life better just to build and change design as needed... goes back to doing instead of sitting on your ass… sure I will admit you have to have some sort of a foundation.

John, will post the measurements as soon as I get a chance.. I posted some new photos and a video; let me know what you think…

Again I would like to thank you for your advice.

Oh yeah, the hand picked pieces will be about the size of your thumb from tip to first knuckle.

Way to get started Daniel! Listen to John, he knows his stuff. What fuel do you plan to use? That is going to have a big effect on performance. Stay away from pellets for now. Please put a nice layer charcoal in the bottom for your first run. DON'T DUMP THE CHARCOAL IN. You will get fines that can plug your reduction. I like to hand pick each piece of charcoal that gets put in the reduction, then I use my hands to sift out the fines for the rest. Put char a few inches above your nozzles. Keep up the good work.
