He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice - Al Einstein

Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it. -- Albert Einstein

The credit of advancing science has always been due to individuals and never to the age. Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749-1832)

"The human mind thinks but to complicate. As soon as one problem is solved, that solution introduces new complications, other problems that perhaps did not exist before. That was one of my great troubles when I was younger, I invented many things that were very fine, but always I was getting into complications. I have had to work very hard to overcome that".
Dr. Nikola Tesla

Check out the albums, they cover 75 plus years syn-fuel tech, with Over 1000 pics from all over the world and always growing!
and Be sure to look at comments of my posted pics; most contain additional links to historical wood gas pics and info!!!

What is Bio-Syntrolysis

For the past year and a half, scientists at the Idaho National Laboratory have been looking for ways to convert biomass into liquid fuels at a far higher efficiency than current technologies. The answer: bio-syntrolysis.

To make a liquid fuel, they are using biomass to make a synthetic… Continue

Microwave-induced pyrolysis

"To everything there is a frequency that excites its molecules best. Just like the 2450MHz frequency magnetron in your kitchen microwave oven which is specific to water (H2O) molecules, hydrocarbon specific frequencies are generated by much higher RF klystrons that actually crack the hydrocarbon… Continue

Fuel For Thought

What kept synthetic fuels and gasifiers from coming to the shores of US After WW2? There was much development in this technology during that time. Many examples of tractors, trucks, cars, running on wood. Why haven't US company's like "John Deer" and dozens more, made even one woodgas powered anything here? Would investment funding dry up if they had ever dared, or just truly no demand. Could it be fact that gasoline has been inexpensive for so long that now seventy years later, practical… Continue

It's Called EATR!

The purpose of the Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot (EATR)™ (patent pending) project is to develop and demonstrate an autonomous robotic platform able to perform long-range, long-endurance missions without the need for manual or conventional re-fueling, which would otherwise preclude the ability of… Continue

Liquid metal systems for gasification-based power generation or (LMG)

The basis of the the Liquid metal system is a molten metal reactor ( Iron / Tin) for a cycle of oxidation and reduction of the iron to produce carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2) in separate and distinct streams, which “can be used to create electricit… Continue

Chris, your gasifier is great. You and Jay Rucker, in a way, have revolutionized gasifers. Of all my looking around the web I have only seen a small one from Fluidyne that was close to what I am looking for and they said it was a tar pit. What is the biggest problem you have with yours?

Ah, to build, to build! That is the noblest art of all the arts. Painting and sculpture are but images, are merely shadows cast by outward things on stone or canvas, having in themselves no separate existence. Architecture, existing in itself, and not in seeming a something it is not, surpasses them as substance shadow.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-1882) U.S. poet.
